SBY Holds All-Day Working Meeting with Governors

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono on Thursday opened a working meeting with provincial governors that was to last the whole day at the Bogor Palace. The working meeting with the governors of all Indonesian provinces was the fourth since Yudhoyono assumed office for his second term in 2009.

According to the Presidential Palace media and press bureau, the working meeting at Bogor Palace would focus on economic matters and be divided into three sessions. The meeting was started at 10 am and would last until 9 pm

On Tuesday, December 28, 2010, President Yudhoyono handed 2011 Budget-funded Project Proposal Lists (DIPA 2011) to cabinet ministers, heads of state institutions and provincial governors at a State Palace ceremony.

The handing of DIPA 2011 was implemented at the end of the year so that starting from the first day of the year 2011 all state treasury offices (KPPN) across the country can be ready to serve the disbursement of funds for all work units.

Punctuality in fund disbursements was of great importance for success in the implementation of development programs which have been well and carefully planned. The national priorities to be achieved in 2011 in accordance with the government’s plan of action were bureaucratic reform and good governance, education quality improvement, implementation of health improvement efforts and percentage of drug availability, and poverty reduction.

All provincial governors are expected to forward the DIPA as soon as possible to the working units at district and municipal levels in accordance with 2011 government’s working plan of the acceleration of fair economic growth.

Among 11 national priorities that the government has to achieve in 2011 are good governance and bureaucratic reforms, improvement in education and health quality, percentage of drugs availability, and poverty management.
