SBY PRESIDENCY

President Yudhoyono reacted to the statement made by Vice President Jusuf Kalla on Tuesday a day after the Golkar Party Chairman urged the party to become opposition to the next government under Yudhoyono, saying Kalla term of "begging" was really unecessary.

In a sign of shock Yudhoyono held a news conference to respond to Kalla statement at the State Palace on Tuesday morning saying ”Mr JK has mentioned the next five-year term of government and I, God willing, will lead the five-year term government, it was also mentioned that Golkar in short should become opposition to the next government.”

Yudhoyono told reporters that corrections to the government should not always came from the opposing power, but Yudhoyono said he will respect any decision made by the party during its national convention in Pekanbaru, Riau Province. And if the party choose to become opposition for the next government he urged the party to control the government down from regional administration to the central government.

The president also reminded Kalla that the current in administration he is leading, in which Kalla is still become part of, has not concluded, and being opposition before the term ends was inconstitutional. (TEMPO Interactive)
