SBY PRESIDENCY
President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Malaysian PM Najib Razak will discuss the issue of Indonesian laborers (TKI) in the meeting in Kuala Lumpur in the coming few days. The presidential spokesman, Dino Patti Djalal, in the press release in the presidential office, Jakarta, Tuesday, stated that the TKI issue will be discussed since it's deemed important for both countries."Naturally this will be discussed, I can't explain the details, the Malaysian government knows this is important and the President SBY has repeatedly inquired the fate of the laborers in court," said Dino. He added that the president requests that the legal process for some laborers should not take too long and be pro-justice.
"This is crucial, the President reiterated, and it's reflected in the EPG report, there are many Indonesians there, in the last incident Indonesia sees the positive side of the proper conduct from Malaysia," stated Dino.
Meanwhile, in his visit to Singapore, SBY, who is scheduled to meet a number of Singaporean dignitaries, explained that the extradition pact between the two countries was not guaranteed to be discussed. "Still putting aside the extradition pact and also the defence cooperation agreement, because those two are related and still set aside. We'll see from the the President's topics," he said.
SBY, from November 11 to 16 will be on an official trip to Malaysia and Singapore. In Malaysia, the Head of State will meet the Malaysian dignitaries. On November 16, 2009, he and his staff as well crew are scheduled to return home.(kompas.com)
