Yudhoyono believes certain movement tries to topple him

SBY PRESIDENCY. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono believed that a certain movement will shake and topple him from the presidency.

Yudhoyono, who is also the Democrat Party`s chairman of the Board of Trustees made the statement to cadres of the Democratic Party at its 3rd national leadership meeting at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) here on Sunday.

According to Yudhoyono, his assumption was the result of a reflection and thought on recent political situations.

"At midnight I prayed to God together with my wife and family to find out the causes of all the slander and character assassination. My common sense says that this kind of political behavior at least the short run wanted to discredit and shake and if possible to topple the president and his government," he said.

In his contemplation, Yudhoyono also found out that a certain party in the medium and long term wanted to block the Democratic Party in the 2014 general elections.

According to him, a certain party wanted to destroy the reputation of the Democratic Party in the eyes of the people, so that in the 2014 general elections the party would be undermined and eventually lost.

"That`s what I get from my reflection and thought, why there are `attacks` and cruel slander against our party," he said.

Yudhoyono said the allegations that the Democratic party received funds from Bank Century in the 2009 presidential election is a disaster and temptation to the party he has set up, and the fact that the temptation came after the Democratic party won the 2009 election.

"During the commemoration of the 8th anniversary of the party, tragedy and the temptation was like the strike of thunder in broad daylight," he said.

At the Democratic Party`s 3rd national leadership meeting, Yudhoyono again firmly denied rumors that he and the party have received money from Bank Century.

"The Democratic party and its cadres denied receiving large amount of funds Bank Century, which God knows, and history knows, that we have not received even a single cent, as part of the funding for the party`s struggle," said Yudhoyono.

According to him, such allegation is against the party`s policy and moral value, the party even impose a tough sanction on its cadres indiscriminately if they accepted such illegal funds.

Yudhoyono in his speech also asked the party cadres whether or not they are willing to be the object of slander and character assassination.

On the occasion, Yudhoyono advised the Democratic Party cadres that the slander and character assassination should not be responded to.

"Our country is a law abiding country. Therefore, let us take a legal measures to obtain true justice," he added.(ANTARA News)
